The Hamlet

Once a safe haven for the farmers of the Merse River valley, the Hamlet of La Bagnaia dates back to the Early Middle Ages. After centuries of rural life, it was abandoned and later revived by the nobleman Jacopo Bichi, who turned it into his elegant country estate. The heart of the Hamlet still beats around the Church of Saints Vincenzo and Anastasio, built in the 12th century, and the Villa commissioned by Pope Alexander VII. A careful restoration enhanced the Hamlet’s original character, giving life to a Resort where history and hospitality come together. Today, the complex includes the ancient Hamlet of La Bagnaia and the historic parish house La Canonica, featuring 72 rooms and suites decorated in warm tones with handcrafted furniture and fine fabrics in true Tuscan style.
